Bringing back Nymboida's glossy black-cockatoos
Meet Pamela Denise, one of the incredible landholders who is working in Nymboida with our on-ground partner Clarence Landcare Inc to bring glossy black-cockatoos back to the bushfire impacted region. Pamela and others have been planting habitat and food trees, managing weeds and creating new nesting hollows to support the return of their glossies. -
Land for Wildlife: Connecting People and the Land
Lori Gould is a Land for Wildlife assessor who works in the GER Kanangra-Boyd to Wyangala regional partnership area, supporting landholders to contribute meaningfully to bushfire recovery and ensuring the survival of our unique animals and plants through private land conservation and restoration. -
Rocklily Wombats: A Refuge for Wildlife
Rocklily Wombats is a wildlife refuge in the Kanangra-Boyd to Wyangala corridor that rescues, rehabilitates and releases wombats, macropods and other native animals. Owners Dianna and Warwick Bisset have worked to restore and reconnect habitat since the devastating 2019-20 Black Summer bushfires, including through the installation of nest boxes for hollow-dependant wildlife. -
Regenerating Toledo
Since purchasing Toledo, a 200ha merino sheep farm in the NSW Southern Tablelands, Dr Robyn Alders has been working with GER’s regional partnership, Kanangra-Boyd to Wyngala Link and other organisations to improve the health and biodiversity of her property by establishing a production system that works with nature. - © Vivienne Jones
Restoring nectar-rich trees for animal pollinators
To boost sources of food for our struggling native birds and bats, GER is working with ecologist Dr Peggy Eby and local communities to restore and reconnect nectar-rich trees across south-eastern Australia. -
Saving the platypus of the Coffs Coast Hinterland
In NSW’s Coffs Coast Hinterland, the Jaliigirr Biodiversity Alliance and its partners are using cutting edge science to monitor platypus and develop projects to help the species to recover in the wake of the Black Summer bushfires. -
Planting for koalas at Levenvale Farm

As part of Albury Conservation Company's 'Squirrel glider urban nest box program', Thurgoona Men’s Shed helped to custom-design, build and test nest boxes for the region's unique gliding possums. -
Inspiring the next generation of nature carers
To inspire the next generation of nature carers, GER's regional partnership, Kanangra-Boyd to Wyangala, together with the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage engaged teachers from local primary schools to develop a curriculum-linked teaching package on wildlife corridors.
