Brendan Mackey is currently Professor and Director of the Climate Change Response Program at Griffith University, Australia (www.griffith.edu.au/climate-change-response-program). Prof Mackey has published extensively on the science of connectivity conservation including landmark reports, book chapters and journal articles. Prof Mackey served on the IUCN Council from 2009-2016.

Prof Mackey has written over 200 academic publications and his current research is focused on ecosystem-based mitigation and adaptation, resilience planning, and connectivity conservation science including projects focused on ecosystem-based adaption in the Pacific.
